About 3M 8215
3M 8215 is an optically clear adhesive film with superior clarity that is designed to be used in general purpose applications where very high adhesion is critical.
This material is a 5 mil thick (125 micron) acrylic adhesive on a polyester release liner.
3M 8215 optical clear film is used to adhere to transparent substrates without any distortion of clarity. This clear film is used in many industries including electronics, medical, appliance, specialty vehicle, and general industrial.

3M 8215 is contaminant-free with resistance to bubbling in laminations exposed to high temperature and high humidity. This material has an operating temperature range -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 185 degrees Fahrenheit with no significant change in transmission over the visible spectrum.
Converting 3M 8215
3M 8215 can be easily die cut and converted in a cleanroom environment into custom formats depending on your needs.
Slitting:
Strouse can slit rolls of optically clear film to custom widths. This provides you tape in the exact width you need for your task at hand. No excess or waste and no more using rolls that are too large and bulky or too small to get the job done.
Die Cutting:
This is the process of cutting a wide roll of optically clear adhesive into a custom shape or usable part for your process. Parts can be cut into different formats to fit seamlessly into your assembly.
Tabs or Extended Liners:
Die cut solutions are great for hand assembly or automated processes but sometimes removing the backing from an adhesive die cut can be difficult. Strouse simplifies this process by adding a tab to the part or extended liners that make it easy to remove the liner and place the adhesive. Liners can also be split backed saving your assembly team the frustration of removing thin liners while saving you time and money in the process.
