Become a Building and Equipment Maintenance Technician

About The Position

The Building and Equipment Maintenance Technician position is responsible for Building and
Equipment maintenance including process improvements. The Building and Equipment
Maintenance Technician coordinates installation, maintenance and repair work related to the
building and machinery. They also coordinate the hiring of contractors, determination of repair procedures, and support production
troubleshooting

Essential Functions:

  • Plan the building maintenance including equipment for all company properties.
  • Prepare, manage and implement protocols for equipment and building maintenance.
  • Negotiate contracts with outside services for building and equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee and participate in construction projects.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to meet ISO and other regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for managing and performing all equipment failure responses.

    • Mechanical
    • Fabricate and/or outsource fabrication for parts as needed
    • Work with equipment manufacturers and other third parties to diagnose issues
    • Work with contractors
  • Perform equipment inspections.
  • Participate in and help implement lean practices.
  • Participate on the Safety Team, and implement continuous improvements related to safety.
  • Respond to outage, alarm, and other system events as the primary resource of the response team.
  • Enriches production knowledge on functionality of the equipment.
  • Contribute to the creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and performance of the processes and procedures of The Strouse Corporation Quality Management System.

  • Mechanical Knowledge - machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and
    maintenance.
  • Electrical Repair Knowledge- Low Voltage
  • Computer Systems, Network, and Application Knowledge- including new technology and
    applications.
  • Proficient use of hand tools.
  • Good communication, problem solving, listening, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described herein are those that must be met by the employee (with or
without reasonable accommodation) to successfully perform the essential functions of the
Building & Equipment Maintenance Technician position:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk,
reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or
move objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects that weight 50
to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

Travel is expected less than 5%, travel ranges from a partial day to multiple days. Primarily in
North America but OUS may occur.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related work experience in a maintenance
    environment
  • Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Planner, Outlook), and
    NetSuite Software
  • High mechanical aptitude for assembly and use of hand tools
  • Project management skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Familiarity with camera and robot setup, operation and troubleshooting.
  • AutoCAD design
  • Industrial machine troubleshooting experience
  • Machinist experience
  • Electrical experience
  • Building maintenance and upkeep experience
  • Leadership Experience
