Become a Custodian
About The Position
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean environment within the facility and assisting with continuous improvement activities.
Essential Functions:
- Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties in the breakroom, kitchen, lobby, office, production floor and restrooms daily.
- Utilize sweeping, dry mopping, sanitizing, dusting, floor machine operation, and other cleaning practices to maintain a clean environment within the facility.
- Follow cleanroom standard operating practices at all times.
- Deep clean surfaces on a routine basis as outlined in the cleaning checklist.
- Sanitize and clean the gym on a routine basis.
- Clean all glass surrounding the clean room, conference rooms, and offices, on a routine basis.
- Adhere to 5S principals and provide support to Continuous Improvement Projects as requested by the Production Supervisor.
- Asist Maintenance with clean-up projects indoors and outdoors as requested.
- Maintain plant cleanliness and efficiency; cleaning, emptying trash, recyclables, etc.
- Contribute to the creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and performance of the processes and procedures of The Strouse Corporation Quality Management System.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects that weight 50 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer Proficiency: Basic Data Entry Skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Facilities sanitation experience in manufacturing industry
